Taste, Smell and Color: I enjoy discovering and recognizing what God has made for us, the vast variety of joys we get to experience. Have you ever thought about taste? Creator could have made us with no taste, Take a cold glass that you have just filled with orange juice. Never mind if it is with pulp or without. A simple glass of orange juice makes me appreciate God. More so if you are quite thirsty. What a refreshing, rewarding taste and besides it is very good for your health. Who put all that there? Flowers are such a good example of Color and Smell. Hold a bouquet of flowers, appreciate their smell (Hyacinth are my favorites) and honestly make a revealing statement. “How in the world could anyone deny a Benevolent Creator?... a caring and pleasing God?”
I refuse to accept it as 'Wrathful and Punishing with its man-contrived Satans and Hell Fire). I would have to add, “and an all Providing God!” I have to admit to having a bit of difficulty using the word ‘God’ instead of Creator (Wakan Tanka, Great Spirit, Great Mystery to we Sioux.) but I keep telling myself I am writing probably to mostly so-influenced white folks and many Indians at that who have not had the tribal Spirituality access that I was blessed with (Oglala & Sichangu Lakota) where we have over 50 sun dances per summer. Do dogs see in a black and white world? I don’t know. Somewhere some source made that claim although one cannot jump around agreeing with everything one reads or hears. Anyway, as a child one seems to more appreciate the brightness of various colors. I recall back in my youth how color seemed to be more vivid. A red fire truck toy became a favorite and probably because it was bright red. We had black and white movies in my time. Such an awesome change to us when Technicolor became introduced. Could God have designed its chemical reactive menu for such technology to never happen?
Invention: What of the camera itself? Polaroid was such a marvel. A lady came to watch our sixth grade baseball team and took our pictures which developed immediately right before us. Now we all have digital cameras on our phones which we can send out immediately from our computers. I firmly believe Creator wants us to now have such improved communication to eventually wipe out ignorance. It was a much more ignorant world back in the biblical days. Ignorant superstition can certainly be thwarted by Direct Observation! Does Creator have the original hand in all of this? “Oh, it just happens,” ignorant skeptics claim. Let us never forget that every invention is an allowance of the Great Inventor in the first place. Human Inventors are merely discoverers, in my opinion.
Gathering of Knowledge: Admittedly, there exists much deeper knowledge lying Beyond. Plato’s Allegory in the Cave supports this knowledge theory wherein the only semblance of surrounding and influencing life around his exemplary subjects (slaves bound so as to only be able to see the cave's walls) is the projection of the shadows of travelers in various forms, singles, groups, chariots, horses or afoot reflecting upon the cave walls interior as they pass through one side of the cave and out through the other and between a large fire which casts (reflecting) their wavering shadows on the spacious cave wall’s interior. The rumble of the chariots, horses snorting or clopping and conversations of the groups while conversely, the solitary silence of those alone accompanying their movement are their sole sources to contemplate their surroundings. ‘The Life we are herein now, is but a mere shadow on the wall, compared to the complete reality that lies beyond.’ The words of Plato. Plato used his mind way back then and not the worthless babble of the so-called prophets. But, the more we learn while here, I believe prepares far more for that Beyond World than walking our road in rote numbness. At the end of Plato’s imaginative theory the slaves are released from their fetters and they are shown the situation they were in. They are awed, to say the least, by their Direct Observation of real Truth.
Do you see where we are arriving at giving all major credit to Creator? To me this is much higher than rote babble- praising, worshipping and singing plaudits to God. How so? First; you have to use your creative mind much more to attempt to recognize and appreciate, hence you gain more knowledge. Next, as a good example, because I see every parent blossom forth when they extol how their child did this and that- graduating from high school, college or grad school and the higher the satisfaction the more difficult his and her progeny arose from. It is a positive, pleasing reflection upon the parent, at least to the parent it is. If one spent a bit of time in helping to train the child at whatever endeavor, then again the parent beams. Sports is a good example to use: Hitting a ball, catching it, catching their first fish or getting an A or B grade on a paper. The child gains knowledge! The parent inherently becomes pleased with this advancement no matter how mere or menial. The smaller and younger the child the more of a guiding role the parent had to exert. What or Who put that appreciation there in the first place? I think that it is a reflection of the mind of God as all things in Creation are reflections(such as the bouquet of flowers were). Therefore it leads me to my theory that the Ultimate does prefer that we recognize, learn from and appreciate its Creations and no doubt is much more pleased when we do so. The parent may find it initially cute for the child to repeatedly state, day after day- ‘Mom is great, Dad is great!’ but they would more appreciate for the child to project needed advance onward into God’s world, in an ethical and moral manner of course like the Eagle who will eventually kick its brood out of its nest. It has to live someday on its own and mere babble is not going to prepare it more fully.
I can imagine the baah baahing Biblicalists taking wrathful issue on this one. I’d debate them with truthful relish on how much more valuable Direct Observation is of Creator's Creation. They could include the Pope as well along with a bevy of his nodding, puppet Cardinals. Oh how they would like to have me back in their medieval times!
